The Bones Brigade - Take 5 with Love Tails

The lovely Sophie from The Bones Brigade Takes 5 with Love Tails today on the Blog. I met Sophie and her beautiful rescue dog Ammo a while back on her Myocum property 'Dingo Ranch'. We went for a walk and had a chat and even managed to squeeze in a few snaps before the mosquitos almost ate us alive!

1. Tell me your businesses life story Over the last 7 years I have spent more time with animals than humans. Working in veterinary hospitals, zoos and managing a dog daycare and training centre. After completing a Diploma in Professional Dog Training and Science Technology through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute in Canada, I decided it was time to venture out on my own and start THE BONES BRIGADE which is based in Byron Bay. 2. What does a typical day look like for you? The Bones Brigade is up bright and early, stocking up "bobby bones" (the Bones brigade truck) with treats, toys and any other fun stuff necessary for that days adventures. Then we are off to meet our first furry friend of the day! The rest of the day involves various beach trips with lots of ball games and a little bit of training to make sure we are on our best behaviour :) At the end of every walk we get a good scrub down, a treat and a well deserved nap!

3. What is the greatest myth about running a business like yours? That it's easy peasy.. it is definitely one of the best, most rewarding jobs but the training side can also be extremely challenging.

4. What do customers love most about your business? I don't like to brag! But this is a really lovely review left for me by one of my clients which I think sums it up

"A fantastic service! Sophie has been providing training and dog walking for our pup Josie for the last few months. She is very professional, knowledgeable and caring. Josie has progressed in leaps and bounds as a result of Sophie’s patient, methodical training and handling. Josie is alway ecstatic when Sophie arrives and totally exhausted when she leaves. The photos from the walks are excellent and the videos of the training sessions have given us the perfect tools to build from. We think any dog, young or old, would benefit from time with Sophie."
